Hannah (Brig) logbook, 1803-1804.

The logbook of the brig Hannah details a shipping voyage from Newburyport, Mass., to Jakarta, Dec. 1803-April 1804. The brig's home port was Newburyport; the logbook keeper, and possibly the master, was Moses Emery. The logbook includes astronomy observations of an eclipse; shipboard occupations; birds seen during the voyage; and one incident of disorderly conduct among the merchant mariners on board. During its voyage, the Hannah spoke the ship Good Hope (out of Salem) and the brig Rambler (out of Boston).
